Evidence was heard on 29th October at EES Hearings from Watershed Vic (Nola Maxfield & Jason Kane) and other submitters like Bass Coast Health, that the already highly stressed rental market and health system will be stressed even more if hundreds of cashed up contractors use health services & what remains of local housing rntal choices (they will be living in the Bass Coast Shire) .
Rent prices are almost certain to go up says the submitters, (the Government’s consultants agree in their own reporting) – meaning that the large number of low-middle income families and singles will be virtually pushed right out of our community. Where will they go??
Traditional holiday makers will find it harder to get a place to stay, will they go elsewhere ??
The coast between Cape Woolamai and Venus Bay was an affordable, beautiful holiday area for families to get away from Melbourne, connect with marine life and the Ocean (in one of several reserves or the Marine National Park) – but what happens if we allow industrialization into this coast?
